24 Jul Money Thoughts – Q3 2026
The DLD Financial Q3 2026 newsletter explores what a comprehensive financial plan really includes, shares an important update on the upcoming Quadrus to IPC Wealth transition, highlights recent DLD media features, and includes the latest firm news and updates.
What is a Financial Plan?
FP Canada recently defined what a Financial Plan is: “Financial planning is a disciplined, multi-step process of assessing an individual’s current financial and personal circumstances against their future goals, resulting in the development of strategies and recommendations to achieve those goals while optimizing the allocation of financial resources.”
We took this a step further and tied FP Canada’s definition and tied it to our Strategic Planning Approach process. A comprehensive financial plan typically includes a written document that outlines:
– Cash Flow Planning
– Investment Planning
– Insurance & Risk Management
– Retirement planning
– Tax planning
– Estate planning
A comprehensive financial plan looks at your complete financial picture rather than treating each financial decision separately. By understanding how the above issues work together, you can make informed decisions and stay focused on your long-term goals.

Upcoming Investment Dealership Amalgamtion: Quadrus ——-> IPC Wealth
Most of you are familiar with Quadrus – here’s an important update: Quadrus will amalgamate with IPC Investment Corporation (IPCIC) on or about October 1, 2026 – subject to regulatory approval. IPCIC is a mutual fund dealer within The Canada Life Assurance Company group of companies, providing investment services through a national network of advisors.
The update is part of bringing two companies together to form one organization. This combined organization will continue to invest in your experience, including new digitial tools and capabilities to simplify and improve your investment experience.
We want to reassure you that this change will not change OUR relationship and your investments will continue to be managed the same way. You will continue to receive personal, independent advice on what’s right for you. There is NO impact to your day-to-day experience, how decisions are made or the level of care and service you receive. No action is required from you unless we contact you.
As always, you continue to have choice and flexibility in how your investments are managed so if you’d like to review your options at any time, we are here to help.
What does this mean to you:
1) Change in name and new logo – once the change is finalized, you will start to see the trade name IPC Wealth branding and logo on your statements and communications instead of Quadrus. Post October 1, 2026, any references to Quadrus should be considered references to IPC Wealth Inc.
2) New Administrative Fee effective October 2027- IPC Wealth will introduce a $60 annual administrative fee to clients. It covers administration, trustee costs, statements, online access, and more. This is a flat fee that applies once annually per client regardless of the number of accounts held. The first $60 charge will occur October of 2027.
Most of you will be receiving a letter from Quadrus in August with more details about the upcoming changes. As always, feel free to contact us if you have any questions. From our perspective, it’s business as usual.
